Texas Certified Tactical Academy (TCTA) is a Texas Department of Public Safety-approved and licensed training academy. In addition to our brick-and-mortar location in Round Rock/Pflugerville, Texas, we are excited to offer an online version of the Texas DPS-RSD official Level 2 non-commissioned training course.
This course is authorized to be taken online as Texas DPS-RSD regulations no longer require that it must be given in a classroom environment.
Additionally, Texas DPS-RSD removed the six-hour time requirement years ago, so this class still complies with the minimum requirements of the State, regardless of the length of time it takes each student to complete. That said our school policy is that each student completes the short course in at least One-two days max after receiving access.
NOTE: This course is not intended to be the only official training your employees/security officers receive. Texas DPS-RSD did not create this short course to be the “end-all-be-all” of training. You need additional training far beyond this brief information to perform adequate security for any client as this is a basic intro to security course (created by Tx DPS). Upon successful completion of the course and passing the 32-question exam (with 75%), students will be emailed a certificate of completion from us which is recognized and approved by Texas DPS-RSD, and any security company here in Texas. Because we will be emailing each student an official state document, photo ID, your last 4 numbers of your Social Security card, will be required prior to us releasing that form.
