Online Level II Non-Commissioned Security Officer Course
Course Overview:
Hello, and thank you for taking this course.
Texas Certified Tactical Academy (TCTA) is a Texas Department of Public Safety – Regulatory Services Division (DPS-RSD) approved and licensed training academy. In addition to our in-person classes at our Round Rock/Pflugerville, Texas location, we are proud to offer the official Texas DPS-RSD Level II Non-Commissioned Security Officer Course fully online.
This course has been authorized by Texas DPS-RSD to be taken online, as current regulations no longer require in-person classroom attendance. Additionally, DPS-RSD has removed the former six-hour minimum time requirement, allowing students to complete the course at their own pace while still meeting all State-mandated standards.
Although completion time varies, our school policy requires each student to complete the course within three days after receiving access.
Important Note:
This Level II course represents only the minimum State-required entry-level training to become a security officer in Texas. It is not intended to be the only training a professional security officer receives. DPS-RSD did not design this program to serve as a complete professional education.
Students are strongly encouraged to pursue additional hands-on and advanced training—such as de-escalation, defensive tactics, First Aid/CPR, CEW, Baton, or Pepper Spray courses—to perform effectively and professionally in the field.
Upon successful completion of this course and passing the official 32-question State Exam with a minimum score of 75%, students will receive a Certificate of Completion via email. This certificate is recognized and approved by Texas DPS-RSD and accepted by all licensed security companies in Texas.
To issue your official State completion certificate, we are required to verify your photo ID and the last four digits of your Social Security number before release.
